INNERLEITHEN hitman Aaron Somerville is on his way to Alloa Athletic.
The 23-year-old electrician has been approached by Recreation Park boss Allan Maitland.
And the striker, who scored 25 goals for promoted Vale of Leithen last season, has agreed to do his pre-season training with the Division Two side as well as play in a couple of tournaments.
Aaron told the Peeblesshire News: "I need to go up and prove myself before the season starts and that will hopefully lead to a contract.
"Alan Maitland is really genuine bloke and he's full of encouragement. I appreciate everything the Vale has done for me over the past couple of seasons but they have said they would kick me out the door if a bigger club came in. My work is also understanding and wants me to do well."
Somerville scored twice during a midweek friendly on the 3G surface at the Rec last season for Vale.
And his freescoring in the East First Division also caught the eye of Maitland.
Vale of Leithen secretary Alec Currie said: "Aaron was great for us last season but he is doing the right thing by moving to a bigger club. The door will always be open for him at Victoria Park if he wants to come back."
Somerville will join Galashiels striker Stuart Noble at Recreation Park. The Wasps narrowly missed out on promotion to the First Division.
