GALA FAIRYDEAN YOUTHS are holding their registration night for the 2011-12 season in the Netherdale clubrooms on Friday, August 19, between 6.30-7.30p.m.

The club intend fielding teams in the Under 13s, 14s, 15s and 17s age sections of the Scottish Borders Junior Football Association for the forthcoming season.

To qualify for the under 13s players must be born on or after January 1, 1999, the under 14s are on or after January 1, 1998, the under 15s on or after January 1, 1997; and the under 17s on January 1, 1995.

Players wishing to sign for the above teams need to be accompanied by an adult as there are two forms which require a signature. There will also be a subscription charge of £25 (reduced rate for families with two or more players) which is a slight increase on last year but takes into account increased costs in changing and training facilities. The process is likely to take adults around 20 minutes.

Gala Fairydean Youths will be using the new 3G facilities currently under construction at Netherdale and the increase is to take into account the charges which will be involved over the course of the season and to keep match day costs down to a minimum.

The youths section held their annual general meeting last week in the Netherdale clubrooms with the following office bearers appointed: Chairman, Robert Fairburn;

Vice-chairman, Graham Brown; Secretary and Youth Co-ordinator, Fred Blackie; Treasurer, Sheila Blackie; Committee, Mike Riddell, Lio De Luca, Kenny Donaldson, Eric Jamieson, Angela McDermott, Derek McGill, Colin Bell, Calum Shields, Jody Jamieson and Paulo Da Costa.

The club are finalising their coaching teams for the various age groups and are still on the look out for volunteers to assist running the squads. Further details available from Fred Blackie on 07814 974458.
