EAST of Scotland minnows Selkirk are hoping to cause a Scottish Cup shock next month after signing a Spanish international striker.
The basement side in the East Premier Division face Highland League side Nairn County in the first round of this year's competition.
And just days before the tie at Station Park, former Spanish Schoolboy cap Romero Aguilera will touch down in Scotland for the first time.
The 21-year-old, who was on the books of Real Mallorca and Puerto Pollenca, wants a taste of foreign football - and Selkirk answered his call.
Chairman Jim Moody said: "Romero had stepped back from football to run his father's hotel in Mallorca. One of our committee members, who has property on the island, became friendly with him and said he should come over to play in Scotland. The hotel season finishes next week and he's all ready to come over."
Aguilera will follow his former international striking partner Daniel Pacheo, who signed for Liverpool, to the UK.
Moody flew over to Mallorca a fortnight ago to sign the striker, who is reported to have scored over 70 goals in two seasons for his hometown team of Puerto Pollenca.
Moody added: "He seemed to think he would be playing Rangers and Celtic, but I explained the level that Selkirk play at. If he's as good as we are told, then we wouldn't stand in his way if he was to go and play for a bigger Scottish team. His first test will be against Nairna County."
Aguilera will arrive at Edinburgh Airport on September 18 - a week before Selkirk face Nairn.
Gala Fairydean won't be making any international signings ahead of their first round clash with Hawick Royal Albert.
Fraser Lothian's team will go into the tie, which is expected to be played at Selkirk's Yarrow Park due to ongoing construction work at Netherdale, as hot favourites.
Lothian said: "There's no getting away from it - it's a really good draw for us. We won't have to travel very far and we know Hawick well. It won't be easy as Hawick will be going all out to beat us - but I am happy."
Vale of Leithen will host Girvan. The Ayrshire juniors were knocked out by Selkirk four seasons ago following a replay. And Coldstream will follow the Souters into the Highlands to face Wick Academy.
