The 31-year-old made his debut for the Victoria Park club nine years ago.

Although he has had spells at both Leithen Rovers and Penicuik he has maintained links with the Vale ever since.

And he has made the number one jersey his own yet again for the 2014/15 Lowland League campaign.

Vale chairman Jack Diamond paid tribute. He said: “It is quite rare these days that players stay at a club for such a long period.

“Mark remains one of the best keepers in the league and we are lucky to have him.” Wilson’s current manager Mark Lamb was also fullof praise. He said: “Mark is from Innerleithen and it’s great to see such loyalty from a local lad.

“He continues to be an outstanding keeper and has made some tremedous saves for us this season.”
