'Dean score Diamond draw in Scottish Cup
GALA Fairydean have been drawn against Scottish Football League Second Division side Airdrie United in the third round of the Scottish Cup.
The tie will be played at the 10,000 capacity Excelsior Stadium on the weekend of November 19/20.
It could prove to be a lucrative draw for the East of Scotland League club who will not be expected to progress any further in the national cup competition - although the last time they reached this stage they defeated fellow SFL side Stirling Albion 1-0.
Among Airdrie's more notable players is winger Graeme Owens, a member of Middlesbrough's FA Youth Cup winning side of 2004. He made his full debut for the English side in the League Cup against Tottenham Hotspur during the 2007-08 season.
He also had a loan spell at Blackpool and signed a two-year deal with Kilmarnock before moving to Airdrie earlier this year.
Other senior members of the squad, nicknamed the Diamonds, include former Hibs defender Paul Lovering, former Kilmarnock defender David Lilley, and former St Mirren midfielder Sean Lynch.
The club's manager, former Airdrie player Jimmy Boyle, has played in two Scottish Cup finals so is no stranger to the cup competition.
Meanwhile, fellow Borders side Vale of Leithen have been drawn away to junior side Auchinleck Talbot, from Ayrshire.
The full draw for the third round of the William Hill Scottish Cup, which was made at Musselburgh Race Course this morning, is as follows:
