Braw Lads are great sports

THE Braw Lads' Sports got underway on starter's orders at the weekend.

Scores of schoolchildren attended the family fun day at Netherdale on Sunday, which marked the official start of a week of festivities as part of the Braw Lads' Gathering. And the results are in.

Braw Lass Nicola Mackay won the annual Principals' race. However, there was no parents of the Principals race this year. Organisers said it was cancelled on health and safety grounds.

The full results for Braw Lads' School Sports are listed below. The names of the schools have been abbreviated as follows: G - Glendinning, C - Clovenfords; STP - St Peters; T - Tweedbank; STM - St Margarets; L - Langlee.

Flat Races - Boys Primary 1: 1st, Lewis Douglas (G); 2nd, Innes Thomson (C); 3rd, Max McLean (STP). Girls Primary 1: 1st, Lucy D'Agrosa (C); 2nd, Kiera McCall (STP); 3rd, Brooke Fowler (STP).
