From the start at Abbotsford House it was straight into the hills over to the Selkirk road, up Lindean, turning left to St Boswells and heading back to the finish at Abbotsford.

On a cool dry night, 16 riders were keen to get underway for what was to be a challenging race.

The winner on the night was Gary Robson with a time of 43 min 43 sec, 2nd Nathen Beard 44 min 09 sec with Leahn Parry, having come off his bike into the hedgerow during the climb up Lindean 3rd with 45 min 50 sec.

The race stirred up plenty interest with parents and relatives coming along to cheer on their siblings and some keen amateur photographers seen out on the course capturing the pain and commitment of the riders.

Tonight, Wednesday, April 23, the cycling club returns to Abbotsford House, Galashiels, meeting at 5.45pm with the race the popular Selkirk Golfie, racing starts at 6.30pm sharp.

Riders are reminded again that a rear light is a club requirement during time trials. Please be early and sign on.
