THIS weekend will see the congregation of some of the world's fastest enduro racers converge on the Tweed Valley. And hoping to beat them all is local rider Gary Forrest.

With the first round of the 2014 Enduro World Series hosted in Chile, round 2 will play out in the mountainbike Mecca that is the Borders.

Amongst the throng of talent, the WTB UK Enduro Team will be pushing hard for a good result, especially local rider Gary Forrest.

After finishing in second place at last weekend’s UK Gravity Enduro in Innerleithen, Gary is on top form and hungry for a win.

He said: “I am really excited about racing in my own back garden and on trails that have made the Tweed Valley an iconic location for any mountain biker. Having home comforts and my own bed to sleep in this weekend is an advantage and I cannot wait for the race to kick off on Saturday!”

Team mate Rob Williams from Wales is on a role also.

With a string of top ten results and multiple podiums so far this season, Rob is keen to place well this weekend and looking forward to testing out the new WTB Trail Boss tyres.

He added: “I'm excited to be racing in my first EWS. The tracks are not too different from what I ride in South Wales. I've had a good couple of races in Europe and I'm feeling fit and ready for the long weekend."

The team will be using the WTB Trail Boss tyre for the first time at the Tweedlove EWS this weekend. The all new TCS tyre from WTB has tight tread spacing for high speed; drag free rolling resistance in dry to damp/ hardpack to loam conditions. With a rounded profile and staggered but supported side knobs, the tyre keeps traction even in severe off camber trails, perfect for the Tweed valley.
