THE Border Principals Race day at Kelso is on Sunday 5th October with their race off at 1.15pm and is the culmination of a very busy season for the Principals selected to represent their towns in their local and adjoining ride-outs. This wonderful and unique tradition is strongly maintained and this is the 10th year of running the race to culminate the season. Fourteen Principals go to post.
The feature race at 4.25 is the NSPCC School Service Handicap Chase run over 2m 1f with a prize fund of £22,500. This is new race for the Kelso calendar and is designed as a Paddy Power prep race for the first big Chase of the season at Cheltenham in November.
The first race off at 2pm.
