The Elm Row secondary - who lost their opening group game - defeated Selkirk High School 2-0 in the final. Jenna Reavely and Rhona Gowans grabbed the goals.

It followed a similar result over Kelso B in the semi-final, with Reavely and Gowans again on target.

Earlier in the tournament, Academy bounced back from a 1-0 defeat to Peebles to score an outstanding win against Hawick - netting three penalty corners - to set up a dramatic final group game against Kelso A, which they drew 2-2.

Goalkeeper Gemma Stoddart played exceptional throughout the tournament especially in the semi-final.

The nerves started to kick in as Selkirk High School were the opponents in the final of the tournament.

Gala won a penalty corner within the first minute of the game, Emma Spence pushed the ball to the top of circle and Jenna Reavely lifted the ball past the keeper for the first goal in the final.

However, this was not the end; Rhona Gowans scored a terrific goal leading to Galashiels Academy winning the final 2-0. The team represented Galashiels Academy with an outstanding performance throughout the tournament.
