NEWCASTLETON srinter Libby Clegg struck gold at the Anniversary Games in London.
The 25-year-old visually impaired athlete returned to the Olympic Stadium where she won T12 silver in 2012.
And she yet again produced a fantastic run ahead of the forthcoming World Championships in Doha with a season’s best 25.22 in the 200 metres.
Libby said: “I think we’re in good shape.
“Being in lane eight, I was a bit apprehensive because you can’t see the field – obviously I can’t see them anyway. We just got out and we were waiting for them to come and get me.” Samantha Kinghorn from Gordon was just edged out of a medal in the T54 1500 metres in front of Sunday’s 10,000 crowd.
The teenager finished fifth as she crossed the line with third-placed Jade Jones and Shelly Woods, who was fourth.
West Linton’s Chris O’hare finished tenth in the Emsley Carr Mile behind Asbel Kiprop of Kenya.
