GALA YM enjoyed a runaway win over joint leaders of the East Region Division 3 League Queensferry at Netherdale on Saturday, running in eleven sparkling tries in the process.

After Queensferry had missed a fairly easy penalty attempt, YM showed their intent by stealing three lineouts and a strike against the head in the opening minutes.

A scything break by Simon Fairbairn sent him in at the posts in the sixth minute and he added the conversion.

A charged down kick was snapped up and John Watson used his long legs to run round the defence for a try in the corner with 14 minutes gone.

YM were running everything and neat handling by the backs sent Colin Campbell in at the other corner five minutes later.

On the half hour, a miskick by Queensferry was again quickly snapped to send Colin Campbell over for his second and the bonus point try.

A fine break by Lewis Playfair sent Craig Hancock racing away to score in the corner and at 27-0 YM were out of sight .

There was still time for a sixth try before the break and it was a corker. Rory Hedderly outsprinting the visitors' defence with a 70 metre dash down the touchline for a great score . The teams turned round with YM ahead by 32-0.

YM started ringing the changes and let Queensferry back into the game in the opening five minutes with the visitors scrambling over for an unconverted try.

Gala were having none of that and an interception took them deep into the 22 to earn a penalty. A quick tap and the ball went along the line for Lewis Playfair to go over and Simon Fairburn converted .

A long kick downfield by Queensferry was taken by Simon Fairburn and he set off to put Craig Hancock away to score his second try after 53 minutes.

John Anderson finished off a great move started by Ryan Shaw and carried on by Simon Fairburn and Callum

Miller and then he got his second try moments later after YM had pinned Queensferry on their own line and Simon Fairburn converted with ten to go.

The final try came in the last minutes when Neale Lees hacked on a loose ball and then gathered to send Kevin Andison away to score an unconverted try and bring the total over sixty.

Man-of-the-Match went deservedly to Simon Fairburn.

Next week YM are at home to RDVC.
