MELROSE RFC Director of Rugby, Mike Dalgetty, has said Mark Robertson is doing the Borders proud as the sevens semi-finals are about to get underway in Rio.
Winger Mark from Galashiels featured heavily for Team GB in the opening matches and will be looking to secure a medal for all his hard work.
Mike said: "This is incredible for the whole community. To have a player out there associated with our club is a privilege.
"It will be difficult to get a medal as South Africa is a tough test.
"But they have done really well to get this far and they've got a real opportunity now to win a medal. Either way though we are very proud," he added.
"It's great for his family too. They are assocaiated with the club and like I say it has been incredible for us."
The semi-final will take place at 7pm this evening.
The other semi-final between Fiji and Japan will take place from 6.30pm.
