THE Melrose President has taken another swipe at the Scottish Rugby Union.

Mike Dalgetty, writing in the club's programme on Saturday, questioned why three Border League matches had been scheduled for the same day.

Gala defeated Hawick while Melrose and Selkirk drew - with the Jed-Forest-Kelso match snowed off.

"It's a pity that the SRU see fit to arrange three Border derbies on the same day for the second time this season," he said.

"I hope they get a sprinkle of imagination and a dollop of good sense on their Christmas dinner table. It certainly appears sadly lacking at present."
