WITH only a handful of games to go in the Scottish Hydro Premier, National and East Leagues this season things are hotting up in the Borders Rugby Rankings, and for the first time this season Hawick have opened up a gap on their nearest rivals Melrose to head the Borders Club Rankings table.

They have 66 for the season while Melrose are on 61. If they stay ahead of their Greenyards rivals it will ensure that the Scottish Hydro Premier trophy for the "Most Successful Borders Club" playing in these three competitions will stay in Hawick. Hawick YM are the current holders of the trophy but there are still a few twists and turns yet as we play out the remainder of the league season.

Here are the Top 3s in every category as it stands after the weekend plus Top 5 Individual lists. Winners will lift trophies at the Borders Rugby Awards event at the Tait Hall, Kelso, on May 14th. For the full lists in every category check out www.BordersRugby.net
