LANGHOLM Rugby Club will have to replay their match against Livingston again after their own appeal which awarded them the match with a try bonus point back in November, was overturned by the Appeals Panel chaired by Sheriff Bill Dunlop.
The net result is that the five points they won have been removed and the game will be re-scheduled for later in the season.
Langholm President Kenneth Pool told BRTV: "We've made our feelings plain. We are not happy about it at all but there's not a thing we can do about it. All we can do is replay the game and hope we get the same result as the previous game when we were leading 27-7 when the match was abandoned two minutes short of the hour mark when the result would normally have stood.
"Livingston never told us they were appealing against the decision by the Championship Committee and the Appeals Panel never even told us. It seems strange that the club affected by the appeal (in this case Langholm) has no say in it or even be told about it."
