MELROSE players stripped naked for a photoshoot to promote the club's sevens this summer.
New Zealand born centre Ben Allen and Scotland A stand-off Nicola Halfpenny unveiled the new kit the club will wear at the event at the Greenyards in April.
However, with the new strip still in production, they had to pose for pictures wearing only bodypaint.
The one-off design, which retains the familiarity of the club's yellow and black colours, incorporates a theme of camouflage to promote the club's support for the army.
Ben, who has also been part of the NZ Sevens squad, said: "It's quite nice. I don't know about the body paint version but I'm looking forward to pulling on the jersey."
The limited-edition strip, designed by Melrose RFC kit sponsor Kukri Sports, will also be available to the general public on a first-come basis - with the Club making a donation to Poppy Scotland for each jersey sold.
Nicola, who also plays for Scotland A, said: "It's quite nice but a little bit chilly. It compares quite well with some of the other strips I have worn and I think it will be very popular."
The 127th Mathon Melrose Sevens will be staged at the Greenyards on April 9 and 10. And, it is hoped the new strip can inspire the home side to glory.
Melrose President Mike Dalgetty said: "We got to the semi-final two years ago and the final last year so hopefully we can go one better this year. It will be a difficult tournament to win it always is. The last time Melrose won was in 1998 when they won two years in a row."
He added: "I think the strip is great. It's totally different from the traditional jersey."
