RUGBY fans in the Borders are being invited to watch Scotland train ahead of their Six Nations match with England next month.

Andy Robinson has extended an invitation to all Scotland supporters to come along to an open training session at Murrayfield on Monday, March 8, at 6pm - just five days before the big match.

Over 1500 supporters turned out to watch Scotland prepare for the Autumn Test match against Fiji and Scottish Rugby is expecting increased interest ahead of the crunch match against the Auld Enemy.

The Scotland squad will be training on the international pitch and, when training finishes at approximately 7.30pm, the squad will stay behind to meet supporters and sign autographs.

Scotland captain, Chris Cusiter, said: "Last autumn's open training session was a great way to kick-start our Test series and meant lot to the players to see so many supporters coming to Murrayfield on a chilly week night, to cheers us on.

"It's a good opportunity for supporters because they get the chance to see a Scotland training session in full flow, first hand, while reminding the players of the backing we have from the nation, going into what is always a crucial fixture."

Meanwhile, Andy Robinson announced a 36-strong squad as Scotland and Scotland A began their preparations for their games against Italy this weekend.

Both lock Nathan Hines (Leinster) and flanker Alasdair Strokosch (Gloucester) who missed the last game in Cardiff through injury, are expected to be fit to take an active part in training.

Squad: Backs - Mike Blair, Ben Cairns (both Edinburgh), Chris Cusiter (Glasgow Warriors), Simon Danielli (Ulster), Nick De Luca (Edinburgh), Max Evans (Glasgow Warriors), Phil Godman (Edinburgh), Alex Grove (Worcester Warriors), Ruaridh Jackson (Glasgow Warriors), Sean Lamont (Scarlets), Rory Lawson (Gloucester), Graeme Morrison, Dan Parks (both Glasgow Warriors), Mark Robertson (Edinburgh), Hugo Southwell (Stade Francais), Nikki Walker (Ospreys)
