SCOTLAND 7s head coach Calum MacRae has named one debutant in his squad for this weekend's Bucharest 7s (20-21 September), the final leg of the 2014 Rugby Europe Grand Prix Sevens Series.

Edinburgh Rugby winger, Damien Hoyland, 20, will make his first outing with the abbreviated national team. He has, so far made 11 appearances for Scotland under-20.

Hawick centre, Rory Hutton, 27, will return to the Scotland 7s side this weekend for the first time since Hong Kong in 2010, his last of six HSBC Sevens World Series tournaments so far.

The rest of the 12-man squad remains unchanged from last weekend's Manchester 7s, with James Fleming and Max McFarland replaced by the inbound duo.

Head coach, Calum MacRae, said: "This weekend is a chance for Damien to showcase his abilities in international competition.

"Having spoken with Edinburgh Rugby head coach, Alan Solomons, he and I both feel sevens would be a very good development tool for Damien's rugby. Playing on the wing, there are a lot of transferable skills he can use in XVs and sevens.

"He is a really exciting young prospect and this could be a launch pad for him to kick-on his career.

"Rory has been playing very well for Hawick. He is an instinctive ball player and that's an area of the squad I'm looking to strengthen.

"He has previously been involved in the pro set-up, where he has shown potential and I believe he can add depth to our side.” As Scotland look to improve on last weekend's Plate success, at the A J Bell Stadium in Manchester, the side go head-to-head with Germany (9.28am), Italy (12.28pm) and France (3.28pm) on Saturday (20 September). All times are BST.

Sunday's fixtures will be determined by day one's results, with two wins required to secure a place in the Cup quarter-finals.

Updates from the Bucharest 7s will be available across the weekend on Twitter, @Scotlandteam.
