THIS Saturday's BT Premiership fixture card offers excitement from top to bottom, with Glasgow Hawks against Hawick at Old Anniesland tomorrow, arguably one of the most interesting picks from the fifth round (all matches kick-off at 3pm).

Both have won just one game in the opening four weeks, but are improving with every tie as the top-flight division reaches top gear.

The sides are separated by points difference alone, with Hawick having a slight advantage in eighth place, having won a bonus-point in all of their matches so far, while Hawks sit one place behind in ninth.

At the top of the table, first, second and third will look to cement their place by making the most of home advantage.

League leaders, Gala, welcome Stirling County to Netherdale for their first Bill McLaren Shield defence.

Ayr, who are in second, meet Edinburgh Accies at Millbrae as they celebrate 50 years at their home in Alloway, while Heriot's, in third, go head-to-head with Boroughmuir at Goldenacre in a capital derby.

Heriot's will be running their third Fill the Stand day with all their teams competing at home tomorrow.

Melrose and Currie round off the fifth week of fixtures at The Greenyards.

Rory Hughes (Stirling County), Connor Braid and Doug Hall (Ayr) are all released to the club teams from the pro-player draft.
