And the town’s rugby club is set to profit from the match.

Scottish Rugby chiefs have announced Netherdale, home of Gala RFC, retains its place as the host club for the Scotland under-20 team for the 2015 age-grade 6 Nations championship.

The team will play three fixtures at Netherdale - against Wales U20s on Friday, February 13; Italy U20s on Friday, February 27; and Ireland U20s on Friday, March 20.

Tickets for the games are priced £10 for adult, £5 for over 60s, and concessions go free.

And, as a continuation of the governing body’s family-friendly ticket-pricing policy, Scotland Season Pass holders have been given the added benefit of free access to all of the games, while the host clubs will profit from all other ticket revenue.

Gala RFC President Scott Dalgleish said: “We’re delighted to welcome representative games to Galashiels because it brings people to the town from across the Borders and beyond.

“Scotland under-20 matches are open, entertaining, fluid games of rugby that are great to watch. In last year’s age-grade 6 Nations Jonny Gray, Mark Bennett and Adam Ashe all played here, and have all since gone on to make their senior international debuts.

“It’s a great chance to the see the stars of tomorrow play some fantastic rugby.”
