SCOTLAND'S rugby league club side will face the British Army this week at Earlston's Haugh ground.

The Scotland Club XIII side is made up from players who play in and qualify for Scotland and come from all four corners of the country and made up from teams of Aberdeen Warriors, Strathmore Silverbacks, Edinburgh Eagles and Easterhouse Panthers. The players have already played one game against the English National Conference Side Siddal RLFC in Halifax three weeks ago.

And they earned a 22-34 victory.

The Army Academy side are in their final preparation game before they enter the Inter-Services championships on September 13 against the Royal Air Force in Salford.

The Army Academy will be in high spirits coming off the back of three wins and look to keep that going this weekend.

Scotland Club XIII Head Coach Craig Parslow told us: "This is our only home game this year as the Club XIII and extremely excited to have the Army Academy side play us as well as be hosted by Earlston Rugby Club.

"We know that the Army side will be a tough and challenging game and we will have to do all we can to keep them at bay. We have some big forwards playing this weekend with some real pace out wide so I am looking forward to see how we have come on since playing in Halifax."

Saturday evening's match in Earlston kicks off at 5.30pm.
