RELEGATION-threatened Selkirk are tackling one of the biggest weeks in the club"s season.
The Souters, who played fellow strugglers Easthouses Lily last night (Tuesday), are being forced to play three games in five days this week as they continue to fight for their East of Scotland League Premier Division lives.
They are at home to Lothian Thistle tomorrow (Thursday) night and Edinburgh City on Saturday.
And the Yarrow Park side, who drew 1-1 away to relegation rivals Lothian Thistle last weekend, are aiming for three wins to avoid the drop to Division One.
Speaking to the Border Telegraph, Selkirk boss Fraser Lothian said: 'If we were to go down it would be a disaster.
'We want to be playing football in the top division next season and I am confident we can stay up.
'This is probably the biggest week in the club"s season. We"ve got six games left and if we come away with nine points then that should be enough.'
Injury-hit Selkirk - who have slammed the lack of a fixture list for hampering their preparations this season - have been forced to draft in a goalkeeper from Musselburgh, Lenny Clark, after number one John Dodds was injured in the run-in.
Lothian said: 'I"m going to have to mix the team up a bit because certain players might not be able to play every game.'
He added: 'It will be a tough week but hopefully the town will rally round and give us their support.'
Meanwhile, in the First Division, Gala Fairydean are at home to Ormiston.
With only pride left to play for, co-manager Bryan Templeton has urged his fringe players to use the chance to stake a regular place in the first team.
He is expected to be missing suspended captain Shane Greene and winger Paul Mackay, who was injured on his comeback last weekend.
Templeton said: 'We"re more or less just playing for pride. We just need to try to win our last four games.'
