SELKIRK have secured a glamour pre-season friendly against Rangers.

A team from Ibrox will arrive at Yarrow Park on Wednesday, July 28 for an evening match against Paul Brownlee's side.

Officials at Yarrow Park are also hoping to announce dates for fixtures against Hamilton and Hibs within the next week to finish off a busy pre-season schedule.

Ties against East Fife on July 10 and Albion Rovers on July 17 have already been organised.

And Selkirk chairman Jim Moody hopes big crowds will support all the games. He said: "We are delighted that Rangers are coming. The first team will be in Australia but there will be a strong Reserve team coming down - many stars of the future.

"East Fife are having a bonding weekend and will be staying on for night at Yarrow Park after the match. We are really pleased to forge good relationships with teams like these and hopefully we'll get decent crowds down for all of the matches."
