FASTEN your seatbelts... Chitty is back!
The award-winning, record-breaking Chitty Chitty Bang Bang returns to The Edinburgh Playhouse as part of its brand new high-flying tour and we have three family tickets available for the Press Night performance on Wednesday, May 19, at 7.30pm.
Last month, we revealed 11-year-old Rebecca Frankland, from Galashiels, has landed a part in the children's choir of the touring production.
This box office smash hit has been re-vamped, updated and technologically advanced. Re-directed by Adrian Noble this feel good family favourite features the much loved songs Truly Scrumptious, Toot Sweets, Hushabye Mountain and the Oscar-nominated title song.
With a cast and crew of 100 (including ten dogs), sensational sets, stunning special effects and full orchestra, this action packed musical is the story of love and adventure, of good and evil and of a family in search of something missing - all brought together by a fantasmagorical car! Eccentric inventor Caractacus Potts and his two children Jemima and Jeremy alongside Truly Scrumptious and Grandpa Potts all try and outwit the dastardly Baron, Baroness and the evil Child Catcher.
Nominated for three Olivier Awards, winning Best Musical at the 2002 Variety Awards, nominated for five Tony Awards on Broadway, winning the coveted 2006 Manchester Evening News Theatre Award for Best Family Show and holding the Guinness World Record for the most expensive stage prop, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is guaranteed to be a wonderful experience for the whole family to enjoy. Don't Let It Take Off Without You!
