FOR the past 16 years they have brought some of the world's best known DJs to the Borders. But now they are set to produce their own little stars.

Steve Cass and Justin Wilson, from Galashiels, founders of club night No Strings Attached, have announced they are switching their focus from performing to producing.

They are moving to a new residency at Chambre69 in Glasgow.

And they have invited Swiss House and techno producer Deetron, who had a massive summer hit with the track 'Starblazer', to perform with them on their opening night.

As Steve explained: "It's a venture we have been looking to do for many years, now we feel the time is write to concentrate on new up-and-coming producers and DJs.

"The House music scene at the moment is thriving with talented producers such as Deetron (our next guest) Jamie Jones, Art Department, Lee Curtis and French techno-head Clement Meyer.

"Our new venue is tucked away in a little side street just off the main shopping strip in Glasgow's Buchanan Street. It's called Chambre69. I recently heard Andrew Weatherall DJ-ing there, it has a great feel to it and is the perfect size for our nights.

"We are excited to get things going up there it's always been our second home with regular visits to the Sub Club and the early years at The Arches; it's a special place and the crowd are always up for a good party."

The local lads decided to set up their own club night after years spent travelling to venues across Scotland and northern England, building their own collection of vinyl as they went.

Back home in the Borders, the date was set, the clubrooms at Gala Fairydean booked, the gear hired and No Strings Attached (NSA) was born.

The pair have performed alongside some of the world's top DJs and producers, including ex-Underworld star Darren Emerson, Two Lone Swordsmen's Andrew Weatherall, the 'godfather of house music' Marshall Jefferson, French electro queen Miss Kittin and early heroes Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle, otherwise known as Slam.

But Steve, who runs Galashiels nightclub Move, revealed he is just as excited with his next guest. He said: "Deetron has produced a selection of great tracks over the last few years and this guy can only get bigger.

"His Summer smash 'starblazer' has been a huge hit in clubs all over the world, reaching number one in the Beatport chart. I witnessed Ralph Lawson playing it in Space Ibiza last Monday and it went down a storm!"

No Strings Attached opens at Chambre69, Nelson Mandela Place, in Glasgow on Saturday, November 5, at 10pm until 3am. Steve's brother RYZO, who has performed with him at Rockness, one of the country's biggest music festivals, is also on the bill on the night. Tickets, priced £10, are available on the door.
