Gala day for Fairytale Princess
SHE looks like something out of a fairytale. But she is about to make dreams come true in the Borders.
Little Vita the Fairytale Princess, at 24 inches tall, is the smallest horse in Scotland.
The rare breed, which were once the pampered pets of kings and queens, is the star attraction at a new stud farm being developed at Innerleithen.
Her owners, Olivier Hofer and Leya Reid, announced the launch of their new business venture this week.
They plan to use Vita the Fairytale Princess and Merlin the Unicorn - the country's only miniature unicorn - for weddings, children's portraiture and to promote local products and services.
They plan to dress the attractive animals up in miniature outfits - including like the children's toy My Little Pony.
And, between now and December 10, they will be posing for photographs at Kennedy's Country Store in Bank Close, Galashiels, every Saturday, between 10am and 3pm.
Speaking to the Border Telegraph, Leya said: "When people see them it's just like wow. They are not ponies but ultra refined tiny miniature horses and extremely rare.
"They are gentle in nature and can be trained to perform advanced dressage movements, pull carts and work as assisted animals to the blind."
