There is a total of seven walks over the three days and the first one on Friday takes in the Duchess’s Drive at Bowhill, which is sponsored by Telfords Coaches. The other walk that day is from Selkirk to Hawick along the Borders Abbey Way. Transport is provided out to both these walks. On Saturday there is the Meikledale Walk sponsored by the 50+ group/Hawick Harlequins, the other walk being the Mosspaul Circular sponsored by the Tuesday Walkers. There is also an extra special local interest walk laid on that day which goes around the 'Hills of Home’. On Sunday the walks are to 'The Vales’ and Cavers Circular both of which start and finish at the Old Parish Church Hall.

The entertainment this year has been organised by Bernie Armstrong who has arranged for Hawick Sings to take place in the Burns Club on Friday evening starting at 7.30 pm instead of the usual Wednesday. Admission is still free and it is hoped that all the regulars will still come along to support the artists and make it a night to remember for the visitors that manage to survive the walks. On the Saturday evening starting at 7.30pm Gordon Brown’s Ceilidh Band will be performing in the walk centre with Gordon Jackson in control as MC. Tickets are £7.50 each and advance bookings can be made at ILF Imaging or just turn up at the door. There will refreshments available and a light supper is included. Members of the public most welcome.

Walks involving transport will cost £8 each and the others starting from Hawick are £5. Afternoon teas provided by local branches of the SWRI, renowned for their acclaimed home baking products and hugely popular in past years, will be available in the hall for people returning from walks.

Registration for all walks is at 8.45am in St Mary’s and Old Parish Church Hall, Buccleuch Street. (Opposite Hawick High School). Nobody has ever been turned away.
