BEAUTY Therapy students organised a special evening for family and friends in Galashiels recently.

The evening included beauty demonstrations and treatments, as well as raising funds for the Look Good Feel Better charity and student enterprise fund.

Borders College Level 3 Beauty Therapy students planned and promoted the event as part of their Beauty Therapy programme, working together as a team to make the night a success.

All 60 tickets were sold and those attending were treated to make-up and hot stone demonstrations as well as having their nails filed and polished or a neck and shoulder massage, all good experience for the students taking part. As well as the beauty therapy treatments, guests could purchase a range of Avon and Neals Yard beauty products and products from the Liberty Star Trading Company or treat themselves to a home bake from the cake and candy stall as well as buy a raffle ticket.

The group raised over £600. Funds will go to the Look Good and Feel Better charity, a charity dedicated to improving the self-esteem, confidence and wellbeing of people undergoing treatment for any sort of cancer with the aim of improving their self-image and appearance through free group and self-help skincare and make-up workshops. It was good experience for the class to work together on this assessment,” said beauty therapy student Mandi Curwen. “We thought the Look Good Feel Better charity is a very good and appropriate cause for us to raise funds for, knowing that at least six ladies will enjoy a relaxing pamper sessions makes it real.”
