SCHOOL-CHILDREN from the Borders encountered a range of creepy crawlies and reptiles at Selkirk Library during the October holidays.
A trained ranger from ZooLab UK delivered an interesting and educational animal handling workshop which included appearances from creatures such as a tortoise, cockroaches and a python.
Library Supervisor Morag Cockburn said: βIt was great to welcome something very different into the Library and the children learned a range of facts about the animals and their habitats. While most of the children enjoyed the chance to handle the creatures, some of the parents were not as keen!β Although all the creatures (hopefully) left with the ranger, why not pop into Selkirk Library and see the range of books full of animal facts?
