SBCO are in their second year of our successful outreach project 'Meet the Music in Nurseries' which takes music to nurseries throughout the Scottish Borders.

This year's sessions will culminate with our first Family Arts Day, giving young children the opportunity to explore music and art in a fun-packed morning at Abbey Row Centre, Kelso on Saturday (December 12) from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

The children will have fun exploring musical instruments and song, and creating art work.

The event will be led by Lis Dooner and Janey Lowthian. Lis Dooner is a flautist with the Scottish Chamber orchestra, as well as teaching baroque flute at RSAMD. Lis has led the 'Meet the Music' project for three years in primary schools and nurseries in the Scottish Borders Region.

For the Family Arts Day, we are introducing art into the mix, where children will be able to enjoy making masks with Janey Lowthian, who is an art teacher in the Scottish Borders.

Come along for a chance to explore Music and Art, and have lots of fun!

This is a free event or nursery age children, to be accompanied by a parent or carer. Drink and Biscuit will be provided Places are limited, so please book to avoid disappointment.
