IT was believed to be the first course of its kind in the Borders.

But an evening class aimed at teaching parents how to use social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter has been cancelled.

Borders College had advertised the 10 week course at its campus in Galashiels for start this week.

However, it has confirmed that it has had to be cancelled due to a lack of interest.

The 'Facebookers and Tweeters' evening class was aimed at introducing beginners to the advantages and disadvantages of the new wave of social networking sites.
