ALL-GIRL rock trio The Amorettes are set to headline a fundraiser in Galashiels early next month. The aim of the gig is to help raise funds for an innovative music festival in the town centre, 100 Bands in the Borders. Hailed as the female Ramones, and already confirmed as Special Guests to Europe and Black Star Riders on their UK Tour in March 2015, The Amorettes are on the rise - so prepare to hear a lot more of their gritty, punk-tinged rock explosion.

Forming in 2010, The Amorettes independently released their first album, Haulin’ Ass, in 2011, proving once and for all that you don’t need a record label to make waves. And with their soon to be released new album produced by Legendary Grammy Winning producer, Chris Tsangarides (Thin Lizzy, Tom Jones, Depeche Mode,Judas Priest), and strong support from Planet Rock, The Amorettes are set to go to a whole new level. They will be supported by Hawick punk band Spat. Promoter Bill Jeffrey said: “The idea behind 100 Bands in the Borders is to bring new up and coming bands/musicians from all over the UK to the region whilst also showcasing the best homegrown talent. “We want to use venues and open spaces across the town to to attract visitors to Galashiels and maximise the economic benifit that an event like this brings.” The fundraising gig will be in Warehouse Gala onFriday June 5. Tickets are 10 and will be available from The Music Station 71 Bank Street Gala or on-line atwww.borderevents.com/boxoffice ALL-GIRL rock trio The Amorettes are set to headline a fundraiser in Galashiels early next month.
