THE name game for 2013 has seen Jack and Ella as the most popular choices with Borders mums and dads.
Figures released last week show that the region is in line with the rest of the Scotland when it comes to choosing boys names.
But we go against the grain, somewhat, with our girl selections.
While Jack topped both the Borders boys list with 13 and the Scottish with 561, our number one girls name was Ella, again being chosen 13 times, which could only make it to number eight of the national chart.
Behind Jack in the Borders were 11 Harrys, James with ten, nine Alfies and Archie and Dylan with eight each.
Isla was one behind Ella, while there were ten Emilys, eight Graces and eight Hollys.
Amongst the new names to make the Borders top ten were Riley (7), Ethan (6), and Layla (6).
