MORE than £300 worth of cannabis was discovered after police officers raided a Galashiels house, Selkirk Sheriff Court has been told.
But 23-year-old Stuart Moffett insisted the drug was for his own personal use.
He told police that he paid £200 per ounce which he bought in bulk as he smoked an ounce per week.
Moffett pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis at his Galashiels home on February 28.
Defence lawyer Iain Burke said that while his client - who carries out seasonal work lagging pipes - had previous convictions they were not drug-related.
Sheriff Kevin Drummond ordered Moffett to carry out 72 hours of unpaid work.
