A 27-YEAR-OLD man has been accused of trying to pull a driver from a car and brandishing a knife at him.
John Turnbull, of Crailing Court, Hawick, is alleged to have assaulted the man by grabbing his leg and pulling at him in the town's Minto Place on April 23.
He denies forcing open a car door, grabbing the driver and attempting to pull him from the car, brandishing the knife and breaking the wing mirror of the vehicle to the fear and alarm of the occupants.
Turnbull also pleaded not guilty to possessing a knife and wilfully damaging a car.
A trial date was set for November 3 at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
