POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision that claimed the life of an 87 year old man in Peeblesshire yesterday morning.
The collision took place around 11.10am yesterday (Saturday), on the A72 Peebles to Innerleithen road, near the entrance to Cardrona village.
A red Vauxhall Meriva was involved in a collision with a silver Honda CR-V.
Three men - aged 87, 71 and 42 - were taken to hospital.
Sadly, the 87-year-old passed away a short time later.
Sergeant Neil Inglis, of the Road Policing Unit at Galashiels, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who stopped to assist and have yet to come forward.”
