VOLUNTEERS in Melrose have been out in force, sprucing up the town.
Around 200 people have lent a hand to help clear away litter from the streets.
Val Miller, vice-chair of Melrose and District Community Council, said: “We had a really good response and I would like to thank everyone who took part.
“A lot of youngsters helped out from local schools as well a lot of adults and we picked up a lot of rubbish.
“I would also like to say a thank you to Scottish Borders Council who provided the tools we needed.
“The area is looking a neat and tidy and the event was a great success.”
