SCOTTISH Borders Council's planning committee has agreed to grant consent for a £4.8m waste transfer station (WTS) at Easter Langlee.
The decision was made at the Planning and Building Standards Committee at Newtown today.
Of the eight committee members who debated the issue, just one councillor (Andy Anderson, SNP, Galashiels and District) objected to the proposals.
Mr Anderson said he was not convinced the WTS could be safely serviced by the C77 road, even after the proposed improvements.
However, his motion to refuse the application received no seconder.
We will have all the reaction from today's meeting in Wednesday's Border Telegraph.
