FAMILY, friends and team-mates of the late Alex Stuart have presented a cheque to a charity close to her heart.
The group met on Peebles High Street on Thursday, November 16 to hand over the cheque, worth £3,016.00 to staff at the Save the Children branch.
A netball tournament was held by her former team-mates in her honour at Peebles High School on Sunday, November 12.
Jen Holmes, Hotshots captain told the Peeblesshire News: “We can’t thank the Peeblesshire community enough for their generosity and thoughtfulness. People were coming to us and asking if they could donate and we were just overwhelmed by the response.
“It just says so much about how much people loved Alex.”
Alex, who was a popular player in her native Peebles, died in August at the age of 22.
