A MAN remains in a serious condition in hospital following a late-night crash near Heriot last night.
The driver, who is in his 40s, was rushed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary after his Peugeot car left the A7 close to North Lodge at Burnhouse.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 11.40pm.
A woman who was a passenger in the vehicle was taken to Borders General Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
And a male passenger, who also suffered minor injuries, was treated at the ERI.
The north-bound carriageway was closed for over four hours.
