A GAS leak at Melrose Primary has led to nursery children being sent home.
And council bosses have confirmed this afternoon's class has also been cancelled.
As we reported this morning, engineers were rushed to the school to resolve the problem.
Pupils were evacuated, but education bosses have confirmed that all children are safe.
A Scottish Borders Council spokesperson added: “Earlier today (Thursday), a member of staff reported a smell of gas in an office within Melrose Primary School. Scottish Gas attended and the gas was isolated.
“There was no risk to children but as a precaution, primary pupils were moved to the annex of the building, while nursery children have been sent home this morning, with the nursery class this afternoon being cancelled.”
