THE Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow for the Borders.
Between two and five centimetres is forecast between 3am and midday on Friday.
And up to 10cm is forecast on higher ground.
Brian MacFarlane, Scottish Borders Council's assistant emergency planning officer said: "This is likely to cause disruption to road and rail routes.
"The warning extends into northern England therefore cross border routes are likely to be affected.
"If you are travelling that day please monitor traffic updates and see the Police Scotland website for advice on winter driving http://www.scotland.police.uk/whats-happening/travel-advice/winter-driving/"
