A 36-year-old man has appeared in private at Jedburgh Sheriff Court and been accused of two counts of theft by housebreaking.
Derek Stewart also faces charges of housebreaking with intent to steal and theft by opening a lockfast place with intent to steal.
It follows incidents in the Eyemouth area last month.
Stewart - who gave an address in Newcastle Upon Tyne - made no plea and the case was continued for further examination.
He was remanded in custody following the petition hearing and is due to appear in court again within eight days.
