COMMUNITIES in the Borders rallied this festive season to help deliver a record number of hampers to local families.
Every December, the Peeblesshire Youth Trust (PYT) prepares, packs and delivers Christmas hampers to families across the area.
With help from an army of willing volunteers, donations are made, collections arranged and car boots filled to enable delivery.
Sarah Keen, programme manager of Peeblesshire Youth Trust said: “We are delighted to be able to facilitate this Christmas Hamper programme, giving peace of mind to many local families at this special time of year.
“We are very grateful for all of the help and support that we have received over recent months, to make this possible for so many families across Tweeddale.
“This year, nominations for families to receive hampers increased by 37 per cent on last year, to a total of 99 hampers.
“Successful fundraising from us, combined with the support of many locals, made it possible to achieve this record delivery.
“We would like to thank the many volunteers involved in the success of this programme, in addition to the vital role played by businesses such as Forsyth’s, Glenrath Farms, Caledonian Colour Printers, Fountain Flowers, Carol’s Creations and Purves Funeral Directors, as well as the churches across Tweeddale, West Linton Primary School, Cardrona Scout Group, PhD FUNdamentals Gymnastics and Trampolining Club, Rotary Club of Peebles and Peeblesshire Foodbank, without whom it would not be possible.”
