AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after tools were stolen from a van in Earlston.

The incident occurred near to Earlston Mains Farm between 4.30pm on Monday and 6.30am on Tuesday.

A number of tools were stolen including a Dewalt flip saw, a Makita chop saw, a Hilti frame nailer, two Paslode pinners, two Hilti drills, a Hilti jigsaw, a Makita router, a Makita battery drill, a Stanley battery drill, a transformer, extension leads, sanders and a Makita planer.

PC Craig Hood said: “I would ask anyone who saw any suspicious behaviour in the area or anyone who has been offering the above tools for sale to contact us.

“Equally anyone who knows who is responsible or has information that can help with our inquiries is asked to get in touch.”

Those with information are asked to contact Kelso Police Station via 101, quoting incident number 0418 of February 6.
