A DRIVER had to be cut free from their vehicle by firefighters after a crash between a lorry and a car on Monday evening.
The accident happened on the A701 road near Broughton at around 6.20pm.
The injured driver was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and is said to be in a serious condition.
Another person was also treated at the scene by paramedics.
The road reopened to traffic at around 11pm.
