A MOTORIST who drove his vehicle while almost four times the legal alcohol limit has been banned from the road for 15 months at Selkirk Sheriff Court.

Kevin Darling had been out with friends in Peebles when he decided to move his car at around 12.30am to a safer spot.

But the joiner was spotted by police going round the wrong way of a Keep Left sign and with no lights on.

he pleaded guilty to driving in High Street, Peebles, with a breath/alcohol count of 87 microgrammes - the legal limit being 22.

In addition to the disqualification period, Darling was fined £300.
