A HAWICK man has appeared in private at Jedburgh Sheriff Court charged with assaulting a man to his severe injury.
It follows an incident in Hawick's Arthur Street on the evening of Tuesday, March 27, when a 51-year-old man suffered serious head and facial injuries.
He was taken to Borders General Hospital for treatment.
Andrew McFarlane, who is 53, made no plea and his case was continued for further examination.
He was released on bail.
