A MUSICIAN and songwriter from Sunderland is heading to the Borders for a gig this weekend.

St Boswells Live will be hosting a performance of acoustic music on Saturday (April 28), headlined by Martin Longstaff, who plays under the name "The Lake Poets".

Martin draws his inspiration from artists such as John Martyn, Wilco, Damien Rice, Bright Eyes, and Neil Young. His lead single 'Your Face’ has received over four million Spotify plays and has had airplay on BBC Radio 2, Radio X, and BBC 6 Music.

His weekend performance will be supported by a duo of talented musicians from the Borders. Eryn Rae from near Jedburgh started learning the fiddle at the young age of seven from the Shetland fiddler, Catriona Macdonald.

Since then she has travelled the globe with Folkestra and been a finalist in the 2017 BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards. She will be accompanied by fellow Borderer Scott Turnbull on guitar.

Tickets are available from St Boswells Village Shop or on the website at www.stboswellslive.com, and are priced at £10 (£6 concessions). They can also be purchased on the door priced at £12 (£8). Doors will open for the show at 7.30pm.
